Looks like Amazon EC2 east was out for a bit. We lost all connection to our instances, but they are not back up. Maybe somehow related to the lightning strike and EC2 outage in Ireland a bit earlier.

Because it's immediately related to him/us as customers? Regardless, that would explain why the forums have been down for a while.

Making excuses for Julian's addiction again? Loyalty to your staff is one thing Jeff but orchestrating an actual lightning strike over seas, that just seems a little far. Until this madness stops I am ending all of my 1 subs.

"10:11 PM PDT We have now restored access to all of the single-AZ database instances with storage volumes that we can verify were fully consistent at the time of the power outage. The small portion of remaining single-AZ databases that are still not available have storage volumes that are inconsistent and will be moved into the "failed storage" state. Our records show that the majority of impacted customers have already initiated Point-in-Time Restore operations to resume database requests. However, if your database instance is in the "failed storage" state and you have not already initiated a Point-in-Time-Restore from an automated backup, we encourage you to do so immediately via the instructions posted earlier. " ?
