Nexus is looking really good. My only comments:
Dark suns could use a little love Maybe have the warps closer to the center of the galaxy, maybe max 2k from the center. I noticed in one gal there was a warp that was pretty far off (most noobs don't use augs, so max speed they are gonna get in nexus is like 70, you were going pretty fast in your ship comparatively) I loved the customization of each galaxy with the color schemes, it felt as if you were actually entering a different world altogether. _________________ uhmari wrote: When i look at uhmari, I can see clearly the problems in it |

The nebulas look great and Deep Space had a nice surprise in it
But the moment I saw a dark sun I was put off, they really could use a touch up . _________________ Did you praise the sun today? |

Dark suns were looking good imo,
the most epic thing is when you changed to top-screen view and there was like a solar system far behind, if you make more of these stuffs, i'm simply gonna stare at it for couple hours every day, it just looks so good.. I'd love also to see like, in the far behind area, more suns/solar objects, like someone said a meteor.. maybe a galaxy that looks epic like this Or some after-supernova nebulae's like this: Besides that, everything else was perfect, i love the new nexus. |

shawn_mccall wrote: Cadets are awesome I'm glad that you like them. it was an earlier one of the few models I've done and I still feel like they are missing something. I think I was going to make the cylinder in the nose have an internal glow like some sort of Bussard ramjet (even though most people were saying it was a gun.) I'd also like to make it turn on flashing bluelights along the sides when it's in attack mode so it will scare the crap out of you when you see it behind you on the freeway. _________________ P2P (Offline): Copernicus/Tycho/Kepler/Starlight Squadron/Starlight Droners Inc. ok the coolest part was seeing the other galaxy in the background when you changed the camera angle. A similar effect would be very nice in laby. The Bana bases generating the warp gates into nexus were neat, and the pax base is too flat >_<

I believe Vorian's name is misspelled (or is it supposed to be Rouge?). Also, the effect in Deep Space was neat but kind of incongruous since the stars in the background still move as usual. That would mean that the solar system you're seeing is actually farther away than all the little stars, which makes no sense at all. You'll have to remove all stars from Deep Space or else make them follow you like the system does for things to make any sense.

Vorian the Rouge is indeed his name (in C1 as well). I think his character has a red beard on his icon, plus the Volcom ships all have red markings and he is their leader, so meh.

Actually... it was supposed to be Vorian the Rogue... but I misspelled his name and never fixed it. However, it's a lot more frenchy-pirate flavorful if he's Vorian the Rouge! Also, in the latest version Bana-wormhole-base-thingies look even better! anilv wrote: Also, the effect in Deep Space was neat but kind of incongruous since the stars in the background still move as usual. Unfortunately I can't do that so it'll just have to not make sense (unless those are just particles of space dust?). Then again... it's Star Sonata where spaceships are bigger than suns! Calypso I really don't think I'm being pedantic here. Fine, they can be space dust, but then there should still be some in the far field with the solar system. Again, it's not like I analyzed the video for hours and then wrote up a complaint; it just looked wrong from the second I saw it and so I tried to explain why. You've hit on a very cool new idea for locating the player in space which could have serious application in the game if you just don't half-ass it. _________________ Hi, I'm Anil, a long-time player turned developer. You've hit on a very cool new idea for locating the player in space which could have serious application in the game if you just don't half-ass it. Adding in a far field is something that's extremely doable -- I'll just need to make a starfield texture for it and I'll definitely look into it. By the way, I don't think you're being pedantic either -- I just tend to ignore incongruities or explain them away Calypso _________________ "My name isn't Slick. It's Zoidberg!
