Post Re: Patch Discussion - November 14
My ships still look wrong, something that was supposed to have been fixed a while ago. My grinch sleigh is totally invisible, except for a few particles (it used to have two particle trails, one that stayed with the ship and another that would fly off when it changed direction. There's now one particle set, far fainter than either one it used to have). Also, my Red Photon Carrier's engines are not placed properly, and the glow is missing. I talked to Blue Dwarf, and he said it should be patched within an hour. That was on the first day of C2. I fixed the carrier myself on my client, this is the proper ships.xml entry for it:

Code:
 <ship index="250">
    <default>
      <model>RP Carrier.obj</model>
      <texture>CapitalShipRed.png</texture>
      <enginemounts>
        <mount0>-22.0, -5.0, -232.0</mount0>
        <mount1>22.0, -5.0, -232.0</mount1>
        <mount2>-10.0, 0.0, -234.0</mount2>
        <mount3>10.0, 0.0, -234.0</mount3>
      </enginemounts>
      <environmentbuffers>
        <buffer><index>0</index><texture>e4.jpg</texture></buffer>
      </environmentbuffers>
     <glowmap>CapitalShipRedGlowMap.png</glowmap>
    </default>
    <combat/>
    <travel/>
  </ship>

Is it possible that win 7 doesn't work well either? I can get into the game but can only see the station menus. No ships, planets, etc.

Win 7 x64 bit
2.84ghz core 2 duo
14gbs system ram
4gb gforce 9500 video card

I had that problem on my wife's computer, installing DirectX solved it though.

the new patchbot should make sure it doesnt happen anymore, but for those who have this issue. go in your starsonata2 directory, then actions\dxredist and run DXSETUP.exe

I will take a look at this, and run through all the ships manually today to fine tune them! Oh my... see you in a week ;)

I had that problem initially, but running the game on low fixed that. I still could not run it on high, however the patch Monday or Sunday fixed it for me.

Try running it on low, and as admin, it might help.

I have been able to at least see whats around me on low. Eventually everything ends up looking like sparsely populated dots in groups moving around.

Does the Station Management SP get refunded since it has been reduced?

Not immediately. If your character has used + banked less SP than he should have based on his level, then you will gain 6 SP each new level you go up until you catch up. If you've used more, then you'll gain 4 per level until you're even.

You could give it a try, but I'm running win 7.
