Patch Wednesdays   February 21st, 2010

Patch Wednesdays

We are updating the way we do patches in Star Sonata. We are going to start scheduling them for the second Wednesday of the month at 5:00 pm PST (1:00 am Thursday GMT). This will allow you to schedule around them; you don't want to start an Emperor's run when you know there is going to be a patch, and now you'll know!

Now remember there will be out of band patches that we will announce like we always have. We sometimes need to fix problems that must be repaired before a patch Wednesday, but we hope our new system More....

Updated Help Desk   February 17th, 2010

We have just updated the help desk system. It has a new knowledgebase function that we will be populating with articles of common in-game issues. It also includes some stuff that will help us manage back-end issues which players don’t care about.

Server Patch (and new universe) Feb 27   February 27th, 2010

AI
- Make DG AI spawn at once when the server starts
- Added better radiation resists to several difficult AI
- Made fighters return to their owner when they lose track of their target.
- Added boss scripting to hives
- Increased loot on Hives
- Restricted delquad to perilous space
- Slight increase to the difficulty of Anaconda
- Reduced AI range of interest to so that they hopefully don't go wandering off and getting lost
- Reduced the range at which an AI will decide that it is lost before it will attempt to return to the center of a galaxy.

- Reduced the size of Fine Tuned Mercurian Pharos
- Added Snipers Spotty Beam
- Increased visibility from flares
- Blueprints will now say [Neurobound] if the item they create is neurobound
- Fixed a server crash
- Fixed an exploit that could occur with zero shields
- Fixed the radar mods to what they were supposed to be before they accidentally got messed up
- Changed some of the AI's that had Adum's radar to have flarite instead, since adum's radar got changed to level 99
- Reduced AI range of interest to 20k
- Removed velocity from blackboxes
- Fixed the bug with the translocator

Server and Client patch February 3   February 4th, 2010

* Smooth shields and smooth energy. Instead of things that generate shields and energy giving a chunk every second or so and things that draw energy take away a chunk every second or so and constantly sending updates to the client, calculate a total energy per second and shields per second and send that to the client as well as use it for the server. Shields and energy will smoothly go up or down on both client and server. Type "/charging" to see your current eps and sps.

Xmas content patch - December 21   December 21st, 2009

- Added in Xmas drops
- Added new Rattie Moe ship and stats
- Reduced stats on the Midas Touch and gave Midas the Meaner Midas Touch
- Improved vision on high level radars by about 50%, reduced detection by about 33%, slightly adjusted sizes and electric costs of radars according to More....
