sabre198 wrote: what about the trade slave griefers? how will the new system affect those? wasnt there some rule put in about weaps disconnecting if a gg wasnt used or somesuch? I'm talking about those players that just kill trade slaves with no real losses, using NB weapons, wont they lose even less in this system? they will be able to get back in and carry on killing TS That's a valid point; they won't even need to use NB weapons anymore. Furthermore, they will be able to scoop their own debris in most cases since it will all still be floating 20 seconds later. That will further prolong their misdeeds. I don't see a clear way to address this. Your observation scratches the surface of the vast new meta-game of minimizing /shipvalue while achieving certain performance goals. I have a few setups in mind already for this purpose... _________________ Hi, I'm Anil, a long-time player turned developer. enk, Jey said the plan is for parts/scraps to be added to AI bases to buy/sell in the near future. Whether it will be user-stocked commodity like prom or if the base generates a default supply like an item, I am unsure.
And isn't killing trade slaves part of the game? I can't think of a way to restrict this without seeming silly. _________________ Giovani dos Santos ... Olé! |

Shinsei wrote: Gear Durability and Repairs: On death, all equipped gear is reduced in durability by 5%. A fraction of that 5% is dropped in the form of scrap parts. The value of the parts will always be less than the cost of your damage on death. If your gear durability drops below 50%, it's attributes will be reduced by half. Furthermore, if your gear durability is below 10%, it will once again have it's attributes reduced to -90%. To repair your gear, you can either use scrap parts from the wrecks of other players, or use credits. You are only able to pay for ship repairs at an AI base. Additionally, if you attempt to repair your ship without being docked at a base, you'll be subject to a lower repair efficiency, effectively requiring more parts to repair your gear. I'm glad I quit this game before you guys started doing this stupid stuff. Really, what where you guys on when you thought of this? _________________
I fear for the future of SS.

Come have sex with me in space, my lord.
|

The new system is far superior to the old gear glue system, if you read about it for more that 5 minutes you'll clearly see the benefit. And buzz, I think you'll find the system will be balanced to not work like that -_- _________________ Giovani dos Santos ... Olé! |

Y'all whining about an equipment damage system forget that in 90% of other space games items and entire ships just vanish on death.
