Heck, why not just have the drone energy be held in the same place as our normal energy? Rather than drain energy from the bank that they hold seperately, they just charge up INSIDE the elec bank! It's difficult to explain...hmm, let me try this way; Attachment: Drones.png As you can see, drones would have energy from the main bank allocated to their use, and they would still need to charge, but it would also prevent broken bank issues, and allow an unlimited number of drones to be equipped! So basically, exactly how drones worked before, except with a cooldown (charge up) before redeployment?

Yep. But it lets you use any drones you want, and the cooldown is basically just a 3 second "F.U." period anyway. This would cost me 3 seconds that i might die in, and save me potentially hours of time unequipping one set of drones and equipping another set of drones!

Bank isn't totally useless; regen without bank is just viable now.

If we need to choose between some plain ol' cooldown and the current charging system, I would pick the cooldown every time.
Really, this is better. Drone system is now odd and completely changes drone mechanics, and I can't think of one way it's for the better.
Engineers are supposed to have large banks. Now you don't need one, and have limited number of drones available to use AND have charging times that take awhile. I'll go for this if it removes drone equip cap. _________________ |

I based my Engineer's setup around energy bank, not regen. This new system fucks me over and serves no visible purpose.

How about this:
There's no cap for equipping drones but only the first 12 get pre-charged. The remainder receive charge as you deploy the pre-charged ones. It weakens your position to claim that bank is useless now. Yes, bank with no regen is useless. Yes, EPIC regen with no bank is viable. But bank does give you a safety net in case you do have to charge some drones during the fight. The only thing that changed (apart from the 12 drone charging limit) is that regen now has more use than before.

I guess you're right enk. I just hate the idea of a limit. Nothing else really affects fighting ability majorly
