ok ive been noticing bases going down around the uni, entire sections of it becoming unowned becuz fully functional bases.... died! on their own, full of rations. i think i found the problem.
when i was fixing one of these bases that was going dowen for no apparent reason, i say that the energy was regening smoothly, but it contantly jumped down. therfor, i reasoned, the BASE GEAR (shield, radar and such) was taking the energy in chunks, which isnt supposed to happen. the process of this continues forever until the base runs out of nuclear waste to fuel the energy intake (a base with about 5k nukes could run out in about 2 days, depending on the stuff you have equipped) so unless you have an EXTREMELY steady supply of nuclear waste via slaves or whtever extracting it, your base WILL go down. now personally, i dont want to start a new uni with this still happening, so fix it. to summarize all this: Base energies make energy smoothly. Base gear takes it in chunks. the chunks make the energy contantly need fuel. base runs out of nukes. base begins going down, entire gal begins shield transing. boom ,entire gal dead. now these energies are the same tech as the stuff they are powering, so they SHOULD be able to. Really big messup there, fix it b4 next uni or we are all screwed. _________________ Star Sonata is not ready for a release on Steam. I was under the impression that fueled energies use the same amount of fuel regardless of if they are charging or not (this would apply to base energies as well). I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. I could also be misunderstanding you, thinking that your meaning that because the base seems to be charging energy all the time, that it needs more fuel, but again, I think I understood that right as well.

I was under the impression that the energy being used more (firing weps, regening sheilds) made it use a lot more nukes.
And we have experienced this bug. Kanga _________________ Illegitimi Non Carborundum |

what ive noticed is that without the base shields equipped, the base can keep its energy bank full, thus stopping the overintake of nukes. shielsds equipped, boom- the base constantly has to regen. FIX IT PLX

Just keep bases filled with nukes?
And don't use Argonaut bases as defense bases for level 1800's? _________________ Reddit Space Invaders! |

at any rate ppl need to be warned that their bases now use 2-3x the amount of nukes as b4, so they can prepae and as you say churchill "keep their base filled with nukes"

Fueled energies always take the same amount of fuel regardless of whether energy is being used or not, and have always done so. Using less fuel when not charging is simply something that has been accepted by the players on the basis of conventional wisdom, and I assume nobody ever actually tested it to verify that it was in fact the case.

hal the point is fix base gear to not take energy in chunks.

Jeff has tested the smooth energy on bases and says everything works for him.
I dont think there is any bug here. You simply need to check all the things that use energy on your base and make sure that you energy recharge is good enough. Everything uses a constant amount of energy so add everything together and compare to your energy recharge. Then you have to take into consideration the energy used when weapons are fired too. |
