They go up the Z axis, like this:

Esp because this game was designed to play from a low camera reference, this just makes the game look retarded. Because they need an excuse for why torps that aren't armed can be disappeared if you fly over them? Idk it is pretty much pointless.

actually the fact that the thoraxes float up before they arm protects them from things like asteroids and ships that float through that space in the same plane as your ship.

Yeah but im sure that is not what JeffL originally thought when he made them do this, that was just a positive side effect. I still think they look silly, they should move forward along the Y axis while arming and then fire towards the target. Whatever is the default camera angle, is obviously the intended way for people to play the game. I'm not saying that I play that way, because I play from straight above

Looks stupid when viewed from non-top-down.
The default camera angle is low, and every trailer Jeff_L has posted/commissioned uses the stupid angle too. So, to an outsider, it would seem that the game maker WANTS the game to be viewed from this angle. Otherwise the default angle would be a top down one, and the trailers would use the top down one. To be honest, that low angle is stupid looking. Especially because it's locked to face the South to North direction. If you could swing the camera to face other directions, it would look a bit better. And it makes me feel like I'm playing ArmadaOnline. DO YOU WANT TO FEEL LIKE YOU'RE PLAYING A COMPETITORS' GAME JEFFL? |
