Post Buildable Warp Gates
Just brainstormed an idea:

Each team has the ability to set up 1 or 2 pairs of warp gates to create shortcuts within team space, like around large voids in the map. These gates could be build in bases, hauled out in a ship and dropped like any base or drone.

The warps could be destructable too and need to be guarded.

Good idea? Bad idea? Continue brainstorm!

Warp Drone Blueprint

Produces Warp Drone(x2)

Warp Drones can only be deployed in team-owned space, and are rendered inactive if the gal becomes unowned. The two drones produced are linked, so you press 'f' over A, you warp to B and vice versa. Cooldown 30 seconds.

Cool down? you mean that only 1 person can jump every 30 seconds?

I think an unlimited amount of people should be able to jump. Hell if these warps can be destroyed why limit its functionality?

Why not make it Warp Base so that it cost to have these linking bettwen teamspace.

Stats like T20-21 10-50k shield 50 regen Neuro bound and costy

I sent a ticket several months ago expressing my concern that someone could just make an alt team to get around the ruling that stated you cannot move your HQ once it's down for the concept of BvBing someone else. Voomy replied that making alt teams and filling them with enough characters to reach 250+ score is legal...much to my dislike in said ticket.

Meh, you should be able to BvB 1j off Outposts. Beyond that, I like this idea a lot for inner-team-space transit but would not like to see anything like this involved in a PvB/BvB attempt. It is already easy enough to get 10k out.

I like the idea of being able make a "wormhole" to warp between gals but perhaps this should be a class benefit perhaps Seer?
Seeing as they get warp navigation benefits seems to fit no?
What about seers having the ability to make a "wormhole" to any non-teamed owned gal other then their own team gals for 10 secs with a 30min-1hour CD?

Aww but hot-dropping and jump-drives where some of the more interesting aspects of EVE :P .

A note on that, I've never hotdropped a titan though, that would be rare. It was more so just hunting the odd capital/mothership, gate camps/roam fleets, and for travelling/linking into distant alliance campaigns. Which I think would be really cool to have in SS as well.

SS2 isn't really a game where it could be balanced. Traveling via AP for 40 jumps is quite fast. Doing the same amount of jumps in eve...takes a week. Having capital ships and portable/non portable jump drives and cyno fields was a balancing note. Moving things That big through a gate That small, and for hotdropping 15x an SS's hull 20 jumps away to safety was useful.

However, every ship can fit through a gate and all ships mover much much faster than eve.


Oh, and something to take note...Supercarrier fleets are everywhere. And to kill them you need to double the value of the supercaps in dreads and carriers. Even BS fleets are worthless as the sheer volume of fighters and FBer's can overwhelm the toughest BS tanks+logistic support.
