On the left, you will see the background in Rhinos is not there, thanks to LagKiller, it has removed the background and my FPS has just gone from 9 to 19. However on the right, you will see my client which isn't affected by LagKiller and my FPS is at 9. Now, please sort them out. Lag Killer turns the backgrounds off and on like a light switch. _________________ |

You do realize lag killer does like 10 other things. Backgrounds off would not double FPS.

Before the removing backgrounds thing came in, I got lagkiller levels to 15, and i still had 10 FPS. Yet when the backgrounds are removed, no lag what so ever...

I certainly hope you realize he took two screen shots of the same client with lag killer settings different, then patched them together in paint or similar. Seriously. _________________ Star Sonata is not ready for a release on Steam. See this topic for what we think should be done about it. viewtopic.php?f=107&t=59132 |

I was under the impression that he was multi clienting; that fps is something awful if not.

Yeah, SS is weird. Crysis 2 maxed out settings? BF3 same? 60fps +. SS, same system, lowest settings? 20. At most.

Evidence is indeed inconclusive. This is not the only difference between the two pictures so it cannot be said that it was the background that causes the FPS changes.

yes the background removal help when your graphic card bandwith/memory speed is crap. Unfortunatly its something i usually dismissed due to the extreme bandwith pci-e and hell, even agp has. I also am not a 3d rendering programming expert, but basicly, transparent are a pain to render, and transparent background are even worse

If you check viewtopic.php?f=116&t=51734 youll see that its been there in the beta client for quite some times. And some suggestion as to what to do for your issue in general.

bf3 and crysis both have the huge advantage of being fps, which mean lower field of view, prebuilt relatively static map and multimillions graphic engine .
