Though there might be a few comments here and there about it I simply have not seen any solutions posted so just going to ask here.

Everytime I open SS I get the normal login screen. I log in, get to the character selection screen and freeze about about a second. No idea how to fix it and just got back from Germany the other night, would love to play with my bffs

same all over, some have had success with the beta client, I get exact same as you on beta or regular.

If I reboot I can get in on low settings if I dont click the ok on the popup about it crashing, and just click my character. however if one tiny thing glitches me it will crash and I have to fully reboot for another shot at it.

I actually like this new addition. Throws a new chance aspect into the game that was normally only present in AI augging and drops.
