Suggestion Draft
I have been thinking of allowing for some micro-management of colonies, such as setting taxes, which influence how fast the population grows, or have blueprints to improve certain aspects of the colony such as: Happiness. Living Space. Security (Social Security). Law. All of those should influence the ammount of taxes paid by the inhabitants and the happiness of the colony. Happiness - If it is low, such as 10%, the population growth lowers. - If it is high, max 100%, the population pays more taxes, uses less food and the population growth is increased by a bit. Also - allow for policy enacting. Perhaps allow for slaves to be owned, which increases tax income and production, but decreases Social Security and Law, which in turn decreases happiness, which in turn decreases growth. This is only a draft - which I wish to improve with people's opinion. And it is obviously not thought out well enough - as I did not have time to think of this too much. So why not share some of Your ideas. The improvements of my draft will be used to 'publish' a real suggestion in the suggestion section. Also - please try improve the numbers, like how much % does each thing influence pop growth/happiness, etc. Thanks for your time.

Re: Suggestion Draft
But why? There has to be some benefit to gain from doing this. Unless you intend this as a nerf to colonies?

Re: Suggestion Draft

Re: Suggestion Draft
Yes more money, but also much more to do - and makes colonies more challenging, and also more rewarding. It is also a 'nerf' though - as you would have to spend a good ammount of money to make a colony stable - meaning happy, etc. But if you do manage - you would also get more money. So why not? Would be quite fun to manage whole planets. Of course this won't go in in the near future, meaning at least 6 months, but hey, why not debate it? So please - give me some ideas.

Re: Suggestion Draft
Colonies are already time consuming. I think colony system works very well right now and I don't want it changed at all. Some people have been wanting a colony nerf for a long time and they got it. Planets have less worse suitability now and people need to terraform their planets a lot.
tl, dr: Colonies are fine as they are and they are already very time consuming.
