Solar Panels

Solar Panels collect energy from nearby suns. If you're within a certain distance of a sun (this number is sun dependent), you'll get the full elec regen of the panel. Outside of that distance, the elec regen decreases linearly with distance (this number is also sun dependent).

The maximum number of solar panels equipped depends on hull type of the ship:

• Capital: 7 slots
• Support Freighter: 5 slots
• Heavy Fighter: 4 slots
• Light Fighter: 2 slots
• Industrial Freighter: 3 Slots

For example a Phunka.dll being a light fighter means it can only have 2 solar panels equipped at maximum.

• Elec is the maximum amount of energy generated per second
• Elec/Size is the maximum amount of energy generated per second per size (useful for maximizing elec regen when limited space is available)

For ships, all solar panels will only work once you've been out of combat for 10 seconds. They also work on all types of suns.

Base solar panels work while in combat, but must be matched to the type of the sun (dark suns vs. non dark suns)
