Corrosion: Removed part about lyceum neuro-doc being free. See patch notes.

The Neuro-Doc is a shady 'back alley' procedure that allows brain replacement so a player can unlearn secondary skills for a refund of skill points. To use this service, a player is charged 1.000.000 credits per level with a max of 500.000.000 credits. Although it's rumored that the Neuro-Doc can make a mistake and his surgical procedure could fail, it's yet to happen. Regardless, this is an extremely useful service to anyone looking for a fresh start.

The specific skills that are reset are your Trade skills , Focus, Class skills and their subskills (Speed Demon, Shield Monkey, etc.), Astral Travel, Glory, Control Skills, Resistance Skills, Zen skills and Neuro Tweaking.

Your skill points for the reset skills will be refunded.

Neuro-Docs can be found in Deflector, Lyceum and the Emperor's Club in Sol.

Station Dialogues
'You enter the doctor office and explain that you're interested in a neuro-replacement operation. He looks gravely at you and says: "You know, there's a reason neuro-replacement surgery was banned in the core worlds. As your physician, I have to warn you that it's a pretty risky and irreversible procedure and then there's the sequels... I mean, you can't expect a brain to work exactly like before after you took it apart, cut it up in little pieces and replaced some parts with newly vat grown ones. Oh, sure, in theory there'll be no change in your personality if everything goes well. The problem is when you've done neuro-replacement before it gets trickier the next time... and more expensive too. So are you still up to it now that I've explained the risks to you?"'

'The doctor leads you to the operation theatre: it's a large white room with a cryo capsule in the middle. You stare at the hundreads of tubes and cables going into it, a large mass is coming from the ground under it and some obvious later addition from the ceiling and wall.

"Alright, just climb into the capsule and close you're eyes, it shouldn't hurt one bit he said in his best imitation of a dentist."

You take place inside and the doctor asks you one last time if you're really sure about this?'

Popup: 'Ok, this is it, are you really, really sure about this?'

'As the cover close, you can already feel yourself drifting toward sleep...

When you wake, up it's with an atrocious headache but at least it looks like your mind is fully functional... or you're too far gone to see the difference. Thanks to the marvels of modern medicine, you're already good to go back to your ship and your clothes are pilled up next to your bed with a notice that the bed must be vacated in an hour maximum or a late fee will be charged. Oh well, time to start your new life and your new career.

(Only on first ND)Before you leave, you still have some forms to fill, but as you begin writing you pause and stare... weren't you right handed before?'

Event Chat: 'Enjoy your new brain!'
<br> The Thatch is a fairly unique ship - It is unable to use an engine. To compensate for this weakness, the Thatch also has the most augmenter slots and, until recently, the largest hull in the game for a player piloted ship. It's large hulled crown has been usurped by the Singularity Sphere.

The Thatch is most commonly used as a storage ship with enormous hull space. However, many players also use the Thatch as a means of mass transportation, capable of packing up an entire set of base gear and moving it to a new location in one trip - with the help of team mates to tractor of course!
