Control Skills:

These skills are trained in Lagrange at the hidden base. Each one costs skill points equal to the level of the skill desired per rank, and is capped at 25 ranks. All Control skills share one skill pool; For example if one has 25 lvl in radiation control lvl 1 in mining control costs 26 skill points.

There is one for each of the seven damage types, and they are exclusive to the Resistance Skills, so pick carefully because for each damage type you can either have a resist or a control.

These skills add 1 damage per projectile to all weapons that match the damage type. This damage is added after all ship, class, aug and overloader boni - "on top"; For example if one is a Sniper and does 10k energy dam per shot he will do with lvl 25 in Energy Control 10,025 dam per shot. These skills are useful for multiprojectile weapons or weapons that have fast rate of fire.
Account Slots
Base slots are also limited per account. To calculate the total number of base slots on an account, calculate the base slots for each alt using the above formula. Then, perform the following calculation using each alt's base slots: (alt #1 / 1) + (alt #2 / 2) + (alt #3 / 3) + (alt #4 / 4) + (alt #5 / 5) = account base slots available. Take as an example an account with 3 alts, each having 36 base slots (Station Management 16 and Station Research 2). To determine the account base slots you would calculate (36/1) + (36/2) + (36/3) = 36 + 18 + 12 = 66. The 66 account base slots can be distributed over the 3 alts in any way the player likes, as long as none of the alts exceeds his own base slot limit of 36. Since Ambrosia bases take 6 slots, alt #1 could have 6 Ambrosia bases (36 slots used), and alt #2 could have 5 ambrosia bases (30 slots used), but that would use all 66 account slots and leave no account slots available for alt #3. Account slots are used on a first come, first served basis among your alts. When you attempt to lay a base, the game simply checks to make sure you have enough account base slots AND enough base slots for that individual alt. If there are insufficient slots in either category, you won't be allowed to deploy the base.

Remote Control (abbreviated RC) is a skill that lets you use slaves and capture ships of a tech level up to your Remote Control level. For example, if you have Remote Control 5 you may only use tech 5 or less ships.

The Remote Control skill also determines the maximum number of slaves you can have at any given time. Each RC level gives you 1 slave slot. Each slave takes up a number of slots equal to its tech level divided by 2, rounding up. For example, a tech 5 Hot Rod slave would take up 3 slave slots. Tech 0 ships take up 1 slot each.

Combat slots and Trading slots are seperate, so you have two sets of slots, each equal to the amount of RC you have. So if you had RC 4, for example, you could have 2 Tech 4 ships equipped with Combat Controlbots for fighting alongside you, as well as 4 Tech 2 ships equipped with regular controlbots for trading.

When activating a slave a note in events gives you an update as to how many slots you have left.

NOTE! The number of slots for combat slaves has been modified for tech 0-2. The number of slots you have now equals half of your level in RC. EX: At RC10 you can only have 5 combat slaves of tech 0-2 [July, 2009]

It costs 3 skill points per lvl.
While I really enjoy having images for each of the fighters I have a few issues with them. First, They're all different sizes. If we could clean that up by making them all the same size that would be great. Second, get rid of the psionic corps team flag, it doesn't look pretty with the fighters, and I believe that there was supposed to be a standard across all pages to remove team flags from the basic images (with action shots being exempted from this let me know if I'm wrong).--Bageese 01:43, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Re: Nexus Drone Fighter -- Gamer 12:37, 19 April 2008 (PDT)
The missions can be activated by the Nexus Phozon, in (obviously) the Nexus. The first mission give you a Nexus Fighter Bay and one Nexus Drone Fighter. After completing that, every mission after will simply give you more fighters.

I am also sure that the fighters use ethereal prototypes.

:yeh, i just found that out. check out Nexus_Missions#Nexus_Malvill. scan the fighter just to make sure, and then post the gearlist. -Simon 12:43, 19 April 2008 (PDT)

uh I'm pretty sure you have to complete most of the nexus station missions to get it.
The mission requires you to kill any non space rat enemies in central nexus until you get 15 destroyed hull fragments

slot calculation by tcgm
Fighters take up certain slots per fighter, and the way to determine your maximum slots for the fighter bay your using you need to:

1. Look at the fighter bay item. it will say either it can launch 1, 2, 3 or 4 fighters. this means that it has a base slot amount of the number it says.

2. Determine your level in Flight Controller.

3. Times the level of your flight controller by 5. i.e. FCx5=Percentage

4. The percentage that you get from this, you then times the original fighter bay slot amount by the percentage. i.e. if 20% then times the fighter bay's slot amount by .20

5. The number you get determines maximum slots, rounded down.

I was trying to come up with the formula to calculate my slave's damage per shot when I came up with the idea for a formulas page. I still haven't finished coming up with my formula, and I'm probably not anywhere close, but I think it might be a good idea to have a reference sheet of the various formulas that make everything in SS tick. == A bit of help, please? ==

Sorry to bother you, I am trying to move my rat+ page to the new template. I figured most of it out, but I cannot get the mods to look good. One uses an entire line, then the rest all squeeze into the next line. Here is the page. http://wiki.starsonata.com/index.php/Rat_Plus
Well if u think about it u could get rid of the image of the ship ur using, but a fast ship and shooting in the opposite direction moves the wep away from the ship.
Help :)
I want to help with the wiki, really bad. But it seems that there is a lack of a consistant group effort, and it is just people sporadically changing things every now and then. So yes, I want to help out and make this wiki one of the best resources available. :D My question then would be is there a set of "Quality Standards" available for viewing? I can't really go through and fix pages if I don't know what the standards are. :P --Bageese 01:48, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
