Post New BvB rules on test and incoming to live

There are a new set of rules governing BvB which are coming into the game. The code is currently on the test server, and will probably be patched live next weekend.

The changes are as follows:

- Add 2 base slots per gal for a team for every owned galaxy they have bordering
- For owned galaxies, limit the number of bases for other teams based on the number of bordering owned galaxies.
- Add a check for transferring and capping bases for the galaxy slots
- When a player is trying to join a team, check to make sure the number of team bases in any galaxy wouldn't exceed the limit.
- Make any bases that exceed the gal limit and are no longer allowed to be there because there aren't any neighboring owned galaxies become abandoned. As long as there's at least one bordering owned gal, that team can keep their bases there.
- Add the number of slots that a kit takes to the base kit item description
- Add a message when you deploy a base to tell you how many slots you have
- Add a /baseslots command to tell you how many slots you have

Please test these changes out on test which is a recent copy of the live universe. I expect lots of destruction and mayhem and welcome feedback.

He means if you got 1 gal bordering the gal u want to BvB you get 2 baseslots, if you have 2 gals bordering the gal you want to BvB you get 4 baseslots. and so on and so on. I think.. :P

It's more than that. Even if the owning team only has 3 bases in their gal, the attacking team can only place 2 bases per adjacent owned galaxy, even though there are slots available. This is hopefully to eliminate all incentives for placing low level base kits just to take slots. You would in fact probably prefer to keep a few slots open so you can place some high level kits at need and aug them appropriately.

Does this mean if we kill a base belonging to them we can not lay more kits?

Yes, until you manage to unown the galaxy you are stuck with the same number of attacking slots you had at the start of the fight.

They don't as these rules are based on owned galaxys, not really an option in w1.

This is because of the account slot nerf. You have a limit of account slots, not only just character slots. There has been many request/suggestions for the return of full base slots back again and Jeff says no.

Yeah, it's quite annoying at first, but it's easy to work out...

I just use my spreadsheet, easier than using the /showslots command :P
