as mentioned T10 augs are the maximum we can get with Injection 10

Unless your planning on bringing out AI16 with this update? :)

Otherwise sounds good, thanks for getting the info to us.

Have you heard of built in augs? Qafir+ has an Athena thats equipped.

And a Base Scanner cannot scan DRONES. There is no DRONE scanner in SS.

wtf are you talking about?

I was talking about Aurora saying that you can equip an athena anyway since the inbuilt one is being removed ... and the fact that you can't because you can't equip augs above T10.

Personally I thought DM was fine apart from the fax the drones die and are gone forever, meaning I'll probably change class soon as I can't afford the drones.

My bad, I thought it wasn't being removed.

Awesome, it's about time drones got gear equal to their tech level!

One thing that is missing is drone gg though...

also, "Unused drones like Advanced Pirating should now be better." wtf? Advanced pirating drones cant be capped or built or used. Fail.

Don't think Droners need any kind of beef, may I show you this topic: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=40103

yeh it seems like there are quite a few invalid assumptions about gameplay made by admins in this thread. that scares me.

Just a heads up Trevor, most drones used to conquer Olympus, already had most of these changes implented to them on test, like the inbuilt diffusers, and Forcefield Generators and Bubble Drones worked like they are described in these notes.

But I have to agree with Trevor, beeing an Engineer on test was pretty cool, and a further beef to the class would be somewhat over the edge.

No need to beef it much more up, what scares me, is that Kasa Quu is now getting 4 aug slots, if I read it right? So as long as you stick to the changes done on Test server during Olympus runs, then Engineers should have nothing to complain about really.

I still never understood why admins removed the base weps from the AD and replaced them with crappy ruin items. Unless AD gets a significantly bigger beef than the kasa, it still won't be used, except by people unable to get kasas.

Regarding "incorrect assumptions":

1) Test server included these changes on people's Olympus runs. Data from those runs, including the weighting towards DM chars in the zone have been noted, and will be open to balancing.

2) Kasa Quus. Notes say they've had the # of aug slots increased, not that they have 4 aug slots. Make of that what you will.

3) Regarding drone over-all strength:
Jey123456 wrote:
currently, the limit is just how fast the server do a whole loop (frame) so to speak. on live, it hang around 100ms, but on test with like, 10gals uni, its at 12ms so well, yea, stuff can fire about 8times faster.

My own personal errors:

1) Scanning drones. This is due to an oddity over just what drones are - permanent ones are treated as undockable bases by the game, meaning that a scanner we have access to does scan them. I assumed that base scanners would do the same in game.

2) Astral Injection limited to 10 - it is, at the moment.

Anyhow - as I stated quite clearly in the first post, this is another content dev's work, and I was merely trying to help the player base out by posting updates. He'll be back soon to answer questions - and, to be honest, there's a reason why I'm not involved in drones, and he is: I freely admit, I don't have much to do with them ;)

  • Some low tech drones, such as attached magic attack and attached aether drones, are now permanent, and have larger shield caps.
  • Adonis drones given a shield capacitor to bring them in line with the rest of this class.
  • Removed 2 aug slots on Qafir drones. Added 2 aug slots on Qafir+ drones, so they are worth the cost.

Attached Magic Attack was already perm... I think all attached drones are. :P
So, you given them Ares Shield Cap? O_o
Err, Qafir+ already came with an Athena and another aug equipped on them... So, now they have them and 4 more slots, while the Qafir just has 2? What the hell?

You're not the first admin (or player with access to admin gear) to post about being able to scan drones on the forums.
But any player obtainable base scanner simply states: "This cannot be scanned." And you cannot use the other scanner types on a drone.
