Post subject:  Papertiger - Drones changes

Papertiger is away at the moment, however people have asked about the drone changes - These are his notes, just formatted & removing technical / admin only notes:

PaperTiger wrote:

Temporary Drones
  • Overhauled most of temporary drones: Equipped them with gear appropriate to their tech level and rarity. Upgraded Bule ruin drones in particular
  • Slightly decreased resistances on AI base drones.
  • Other drones received an increase in resistances.
  • Added radiation resistances on most drones.
  • Ruin and Built drones receive extra augmenter(s) to account of their cost.
  • Drones now have Drone-only diffusers. Diffusers split between light ones for Damage drones and heavier ones for tanking drones. When a drone diffuser blows, you are notified about it via event chat.
  • Fixed buggy auras used by protection and bubble drones. Bubble drone auras changed, as they weren't working as intended.
  • Finished the Protection drone line (only Minor Drone Protection Drone was live, t10,15 and 20 versions added).
  • Reworked Force field drone line. Envelopments changed to have 3 second cooldown, 4 second duration and reduced their shields. Visually made them much smaller and changed visages.
  • Reworked Bubble drones. They are now tougher and have the best diffusers.

Permanent Drones
  • Some low tech drones, such as attached magic attack and attached aether drones, are now permanent, and have larger shield caps.
  • Adonis drones given a shield capacitor to bring them in line with the rest of this class.
  • Changes to ruin drones, modifying shields and damage where needed.
  • Unused drones like Advanced Pirating should now be better.
  • Removed 2 aug slots on Qafir drones. Added 2 aug slots on Qafir+ drones, so they are worth the cost.
  • Removed unneeded augs on Kasa Quu and Ancient Defense drones, whilst increasing their aug slots. This should make them a worthwhile addition to galaxy defense (common drones, like ambrosia have 4 slots)
  • Tweaked armada aftermath reward drones a little.
  • Tweaked Forcefield generator drone once again, it now deploys a 5 second envelopment every 3 seconds (to lessen "gaps").

These will go live soon.

No idea - as I said, these are merely his notes. I presume there is an engineer mission chain relating to the UZ that gives drones as rewards?

The list adds new drones in; I'll check about Armada specific questions when he returns.

Youre joking, right?
Improving Kasa Quus?
You obviously havent seen the carnage they can cause relative to other drones......

Thats because Kasa Quu's are the ONLY drones with damaging base weaponry. If you beef them, I demand a Drone with an Ada SL, and one that can power its Achilles Pulse.

As for Armada Aftermath, the Serengeti will get one final addition of content, including 4 new T20 Perma Drones, a possible Reward UZ Ship, and some other crap. There is also possibility of a squad of wandering teamed UZ AI for Perilous Space(Like some Zebras, a bit of Panthers, some Rhinos, and a Lion or 2, possibly on the strength of the Mini Ubers for DF300+, not initially aggro)

Y'all got 2 choices.
Nerf the drone and improve slots,
OR
Leave the drone.
Either way it needs to become no more powerfull then they are atm...But with drone slots, we have options

It uses Achilles Gear with formidable resists, base versions of the Jiji and the 3shot, and is T18. No other single drones comes even close to matching its raw power.

Even the ADD is puny when compared to the Kasa Quu.

it uses ambro gear, so does add for that matter.

Then the Jiji Qa and Ukukuu Qa are T14 too? Sheesh.

The new version lacks these augs, so the vanilla version will actually be worse off, in both terms of damage and shields; it does get a range modifier aug though. You can, of course, add an athena of your own via Astral Injection.

Might have to beef the IQ'Bana spawns though, thanks for alerting me ;)

p.s. I'm pretty sure that you can scan drones the same as bases, so... no idea why you all missed the aug load-out.

erm... astral injection goes to 10 meaning T10 augs max, right? and adonis augs are much better than athenas anyways...

edit: also, you cant scan drones. just tried with ship and base and planet scanner just for kicks. doesnt work

Tell that to a person with the admin panel on test.

Post subject:  Re: Papertiger - Drones changes

as mentioned T10 augs are the maximum we can get with Injection 10

Unless your planning on bringing out AI16 with this update? :)

Otherwise sounds good, thanks for getting the info to us.
