Due to a recent argue in All chat, I decided to make this guide on how to get your first Tractoring levels. Some guys said that to get your first basic tractoring skills you should go to Deflector. I say no. I am going to prove that there are easier ways to get your first tractoring skills than trying to dock in Deflector. This is how you do it:

1. Get Warp Navigation 1.

2. Get yourself the amount of needed skill points. For the tractoring skill (the basic, not the subskills) it is required 1 skill point for level 1, then you need 2 more skill points for level 2, and 3 more for leve 3 and so on.

3. Get a few credits (500 000 should be enough)

4. Many people would advice new players to go to Deflector in W1 to get tractoring. This is not necessary yet (Deflector is protected by invulnerable drones that will grem you and you will need to spend unecessary time, money and effort if you only want Tractor skills from 1 to 5.) There are some places in W1 where you can get the starting, basic Tractor skill to 4 and 5.

The galaxies with AI stations that let you train tractor skill to 4 is:

Tamarito, Tyro

Then get up to level 5 in:

Miaplacidus

These places does not contain any drones or special requirements. This is normal W1 galaxies and the only thing required is the warp navigation skill for W1. Consider this like leveling a normal skill.

As said, Deflector is a nice place, but only if you want tractor skill above level 5 or tractor subskills. I really recommend that you get Tractor to lvl 5 in Miaplacidus instead of spending time in Deflector. Then when you have leveled more, you can go to Deflector and try dock there (which is quite hard if you haven't tried before) and then you can get higher levels in Tractoring and level your subskills.

The point is that some people told some noob to go to Deflector and spend 1 hour getting into the base for tractor level 1. They said it was easier than going to a standard ai base and docking there for tractoring level 1.

what i used to do is get a zeb and 3 minor dockings put em on it and go straight at and dock... im guessing that doesnt work anymore with the aug stacking nerf? and btw did they make the drones do more damage?

hmmm... I used to suicide on top of the base as I passed over it, that should still work.

The drones one-shot every shield you can fit in a Zebucart, therefore its rather hard now. But sure you can get a Hotrod auged with insane shields and suicide over the base, but... hello that is a waste and no newbie player would be able to do such a thing.

i always would just grab a guardian and a zebu then suicideuntil i get to the base

Yes, but the drones don't just grem now. They also hurt quite badly.

Then they should stay away from Deflector until they can take it. there is probably somewhere else they can get tractoring.

the drones do like 1k a shot, which isnt so hard for the drone to do, and you'll have to go through roughly 20 shots. 20k damage is greater than 17k shield.

And that's where this guide and my Core Skill Table proves to be profitable. This is a stay-out-of-deflector-for-low-level-tractor-skills-guide.

It's what we say, but there are some noobs that insist that Deflector is easier than docking at a standard w1 ai station.

:lol: Actually, get a Pax Christmas, put something like vs4/giga flux encasement, liberty shield cap 2, and hyestia+, you might get 500 from the station beforeyou run through twenty gear glue :roll: Well done CSE!
