Oh, it looks like you ran out of shields, preventing you from firing the weapon - but it still took the energy. I'll see if I can fix this.

It's either a Guardian+ or a normal Guardian shield

It's like HAL said.. When you get too low on shields the game will stop you from firing another shot to prevent you killing yourself, but the weapon still takes energy from you as if you were shooting.

If it is Not going to fire the weapons It should not be taking the energy then. If someone wanted to kill their self then it should just allow them to.
